The xmlBlaster-autoconf.tar.gz is a autoconf patch for the CVS tree to let us test the gnu auto-tools. What 'configure' does: It will configure the CVS tree to build all the java files into class files (under the classes directory) and make the jar file ( xmlBlaster.jar) placing the final jar file in $XMLBLASTER_HOME/lib It will now try to build the c++ clients if you use --with-cpp What 'configure' does not: It does not make the javadoc documentation. We will have to hook up some kind of 'make test' also, and I doubt 'make install' will do anything useful. Currently configure only works with mico and xerces-c. The Orbacus option has to be created and integrated. To try it out: cd $XMLBLASTER_HOME gunzip < config/xmlBlaster-autoconf.tar.gz | tar xvf - configure if you do not have $JAVA_HOME set, you can specify the configure option --with-jdk-home=DIR if you want to compile the c++ clients, use --with-cpp and if you are using mico and xerces use --with-mico=DIR --with-xerces-c=DIR for example enter: configure --with-cpp --with-mico=/usr/local/mico --with-xerces-c=/opt/xerces gmake To get rid of it: gmake clean find . -name Makefile\* -exec rm -f {} \; rm config.* configure.in configure install-sh missing mkinstalldirs *.m4 cvs update If you have errors please let me know: coryb@sgi.com
