I just tried (in the xmlBlaster installation directory)

   java -jar lib/xmlBlaster.jar

   java -classpath lib/xmlBlaster.jar javaclients.ClientSub
        -client.protocol XML-RPC

with an EMPTY CLASSPATH.

It runs fine.

Why?

xmlBlaster\src\dtd\XmlQoS.xml

shows a summary.

A tutorial would be nice, i know, but there is currently none.

Study the examples in the demo and the testsuite directories.
